Death in Common, an anthology of horror poetry edited by Rich Ristow will hit the online stores such as Amazon.com within two weeks.

So will the expanded revised edition of Serpent's Quest.
[info]louise_bohmer is handling the PR.

Other than that, there is not a lot happening right now. I'm working on the revisions of book five in my Lycan Blood series. It's nice to be able to put back in all the threads that I was forced to drop by the previous publisher.

Once I have the seventh and final book revised, I am jumping back onto Dark Brothers of the Light to finish the second to last book in that series.

I have so many partials, roughs, and semi-final drafts of books and series that I might be writing for years and years just to catch up with myself.

This year has not been particularly productive, but I'm hoping to gather speed and get more done.

Kynyr's War

Like all of the books in the Lycan Blood series, Kynyr's War (book four) was a victim of the original publisher, Renebooks. I dropped entire threads that contributed to the conclusions of the last and second to last books in the series, because if they went beyond a certain length the publisher, Jean Marie Stine, would chop them up into components like she did the first three books in my Dark Brothers of the Light series.

I just finished revising and restoring over 40,000 words to Kynyr's War. The Doherty family is now back in the books as they were originally meant to be instead of appearing (almost) out of the blue in the final two novels.

I have pitched it back to the editor and now wait on his reactions to it. There were a few places where I did not make the changes he asked for, and instead requested that he clarify what he wanted a bit more. The final version will come when I have that clarification in hand and can work on it.

And of course, he has to approve all of the added material.

Angeline Hawkes' book Symphony for the Forgotten is now available for sale at online stores such as amazon.com

That's our first book out.

We have a new cover for Serpent's Quest and it is no longer available at lulu.com where I did my initial test marketing.

We are in the process of uploading it to LSI. It can take up to eight weeks for it to percolate through all the distributors and appear there. But usually it is faster.

On a personal note:

This blog fell mostly into disuse during a severe depression. It held me locked in tight from October through January, and then started to fade. I'm still fighting the last bit of it, but I am doing much better now.

What brought me out of it was people. In particular, Tim Willard, Owen Kuhn, and Steven Beeho.

Updates

Monday will be the day that I release the first three books from Daverana Enterprises through LSI

Symphony for the Forgotten by Angeline Hawkes

Serpent’s Quest (Lycan Blood volume 1) by Janrae Frank

Fireborn Law (Lycan Blood volume 2) by Janrae Frank

Other matters:

If Truth Dies has just passed 94,000 words and I still have scenes to add to it. Steven has gone over the outline and approved the additional scenes, which I am now writing.

My previous publisher put a lot of constraints upon my word length. Now, with Steven's input, I am restoring the missing sections to the novels in my Lycan Blood series.

I am just waiting on interior artwork before bringing out Issue #12 of Flashing Swords Magazine.

Many, many updates

Kady's Vengeance, the sixth book in the Lycan Blood series will be out at Fictionwise tomorrow. An excerpt is up on my website.

The final book in the series is currently being read by my editor, [info]dwerenat. All of the requested changes have been made, and at this point there might be a few nits to pick, but the work is over.

For the first time since I have been working with Jean, she picked my next editor. Blood Harvest, my previous book in the Dark Brothers of the Light series, got a bit out of hand and suffered a few serious flaws. These are going to be fixed in the next edition. She broke the sub-threads out into their own series and said that I was trying to combine three novels into one volume. I agreed.

Now she wants me to have an editor who is not afraid to slap me around and keep me in line. For the first time in my life, I have a male editor. Steven Beeho is irritating, aggravating, has an ego the size of Manhattan, and he does not hesitate to tell me when I'm wrong.

I tend to be more than a bit intimidating, but Steven stands up to me and at times it is like the immovable object meets the irresistible force.

He also reads my blogs.

An interviewed with me is in Flashing Swords issue nine which just came out. I enjoyed doing the interview.

Now, I'm getting organized to start reading for the anthology that I'm doing, which features an awesome cover by Kaolin Fire.

Finished

The final volume of the Lycan Blood series is now complete in first draft. The Shadowed Princes came in at just over 70k words. By the time i smooth it all out, I expect that it will be somewhere between 90 and 100k words long.

Over the next few weeks, I will be concentrating on my anthologies, and getting contracts and payments out to people. Acceptances and so forth. I feel very good about it.

I am weary and very satisfied by the way the novel tumbled out. I wrote the final two chapters in a blaze of inspiration, feeling driven to keep going until I was too tired to think each day. But it's finished.

Once i wrap up the anthology, I will be back to finish the final volumes of the Dark Brothers series.
