Hoorah! Better options

  • Nov. 23rd, 2009 at 11:12 AM

I found out today that I can still release ebooks through LSI even though I'm not currently doing print versions.

That means I will still have their distribution.

Going that way gets the books into a lot of places, but still not fictionwise.

So I can do a few titles in print through LSI and a host of ebooks through them. That should give me plenty of distribution opportunities.

The only area that I'm still falling down a bit is PR and Marketing.

But I can't do much about that until after the holidays.

I have canceled the weekly meetings for the Daverana staff until the first Thursday after January 1st.

Getting going is rough, but we're still working on it.

Daverana Enterprises

  • Jul. 4th, 2008 at 4:17 AM

I originally created Daverana Enterprises in 2006 to offer a free download and an at cost print edition of my Compendium of Daverana. The purpose was to produce promotional materials to go along with my ebooks. The complexity of the world can be overwhelming when someone decides to start in the middle of a series instead of starting at the beginning. It can be bewildering any way at times.

The new compendium is entitled "Bodisaniwi's Bodacious Universal Dictionary of Daverana" and will again be offered as a free download and an at cost print edition. The editor, Mark Prins, is close to finishing it. An atlas of Daverana is planned.

I have been setting stories and novels on the world of Daverana since 1978. The Chimquar stories take place on this world.

Other materials will be offered as I go along.

Last February, I decided to make Daverana Enterprises a real publishing company and began to acquire books by other authors. I like where it is going.

Sins of Innocence

  • May. 25th, 2008 at 1:58 PM

I'm currently working on Sins of Innocence, book one in a new series Child Profane and Sacrosanct. I'm up to 40k on it.

Some readers have been wondering if I would ever get back to telling the story of the Sacred Child, whom Dynarien had been instructed to look for at the end of the Sacred King novels. This is it.

Amberlin, the shop keeper who is secretly (as those who read the previous series know) a battlemage and demi-god; Britlyn, the rebellious leader of the five surviving lifemages; Skree and Taun; and the assassin, Edouina Hornbow, are back at last.

They are facing off against a notorious band of sa'necari bounty-hunters and the lives of the five-year-old twins, Wolff and Fauxx de Waejonan, hang in the balance.
